NURBS-Based Parametric Design for Ship Hull Form

Recently, the NURBS technique has been widely used in 3D design software for ships. However, most research, is only applied to mathematical representation of hull curves and surfaces, parametric deformation surfaces based on geometric feature parameters less understood. The aims this paper are establish process through classification curves, apply modeling finally achieve driven by develop software. Taking Series 60 ship as an example, we first analyze features parameters, then longitudinal cross-section correlation between them, generate smooth surface skinning ship. research shows that smoothness generated NURBS-based method good. Additionally, extracted have a clear meaning can automatically forms meet requirements quickly effectively, which some practical engineering value.
